Tools A management oriented approach to the evaluation of e-learning
The management-orientated approach to evaluation is meant to serve decision makers. Its rationale is that evaluation information is an essential part of good decision-making and that the evaluator can be most effective by focussing the evaluation products on the needs of managers, policymakers, administrators and practitioners. (Fitzpatrick, Sanders and Worthen 2004. It is presented here is a printable series of tables.
Tools Mentor
Evaluation Mentor is intended to help evaluators and clients develop and design evaluation plans. The software guides users through a series of questions regarding the purposes, processes and products of the evaluation. A comprehensive help menu is available for each set of questions, explaining the background to the questions being asked. A 'Live' online version can be accessed by following the links presented here.
Tools Evaluate
Evaluate is a set of web-based collaborative tools designed to facilitate formative and participative evaluation of projects and programmes. Project participants and evaluators are guided through a three stage procedure, first agreeing on the different aspects of a project which should be evaluated, secondly weighting the importance of each aspect and finally scoring their performance on each aspect. A 'Live' online version can be accessed by following the links presented here.
Tools QuantEmpower
QuantEmpower is a tool for creating before and after self-perception questionnaires, recording peoples responses and charting the results. Slightly out of date, it is available as a CD-ROM for ms Windows.
Tools Speak'n
Speakn is a tool which allows for the self-evaluation of development projects, and allows the collected data to be aggregated at programme or regional level. A much more powerful and more up-to-date version will be announced here late in 2004.
